About the Event
Mary-Ellen O'Hara will watch your selftape and give feedback on what worked well and crucially some learning objectives. Limited to only 30 places! She will also choose a special mention from the group who will be in with the chance of winning a cash prize every 4 workshops.Â
Important dates:
- A selection of scenes will be sent to actors on Wednesday 16th November at 7pm
- Selftapes must be emailed over to us in unlisted youtube link format by Sunday 20th November at 7pm
- Industry Professional's feedback sent to your email in written, voice note or filmed format on Saturday 26th  November at 7pm
*Please be aware that Industry professionals taking part are actively casting within the industry and this can sometimes result in a delay on recieving feedback.
About Mary-Ellen O'Hara:
Mary-Ellen trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before studying Drama and Theatre Studies at Queen’s University, Belfast, and started her professional career as an actor.
Her passion for casting came about in the active and diverse Northern Irish Short film scene. From Cathy Brady’s, ‘Wasted’, Stacey Gregg’s ‘Mercy’, Andrea Harkin’s ‘The Party’ (BAFTA Nominated) to Mike Lennox’s ‘Boogaloo & Graham’ (BAFTA Winner & Oscar Nominated), Mary-Ellen has been championed for her contribution towards finding, working with and continuing to develop new and emerging talent.
She is extremely grateful for the projects she has worked on since embarking on her career in casting, some standout productions for her are ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Derry Girls’, ‘The Dig’ ‘Doing Money’ ‘My Mother & Other Strangers’’Silverpoint’ ‘Ups & Downs’ ‘The Secret’ Pack of Lies’ ‘Son of a Critch’’ and ‘Krypton’.
Mary-Ellen worked with Carla Stronge Casting from 2015 to 2022 the most amazingly happy years of her professional career. Working across film and television. Since June this year she has made the big step on coming out to work on her own.She is an advocate for educating and supporting our actors. She encourages practice, process and preparation.
Our industry is forever moving and growing and as actors/creatives we must move with it.
